SST Catches ‘Race Fever’
SST Racing Series; Exposure in the racing market builds recognition for the series as well as the race teams that participate in the promotion. Our fan’s knowledge of the drivers helps to generate interest for spectators to support the short track racing industry through out the season.
The most recent successful promotion for SST was our visit to the Gaffer District on Bridge St in Corning NY. As a first time guest to the Race Fever festival, we all were truly impressed with the turn out of race fans. Thousands of people walked the streets visiting with vendors and viewing the variety of racecars. Area businesses provided specials to attract patrons, and several radio stations were present entertaining the crowd. Our favorite station of the southern tier is by far is 95.1 The MET! As an advertising partner, WCIS provided complementary race tickets for the LaborDay weekend Party at the BullRing, Sunday August 31st (6pm). This will be Wyo. Co. Int Speedway’s first SST Modified Tour event of the season. 100 laps of open wheel modified thunder! The MET provided great exposure leading up to the festival, and continued through out the whole event…that is until the monsoon hit and fans scattered from the torrential rain…soaking wet, we still had fun!
Some say that racing is a sickness…and once you get bit by the bug, it’s hard to get enough of the action. The SST Racing Series helps to satisfy your cravings for speed all season long. The first 2008 SST SuperStock Tour has been rescheduled for this Friday, Aug 15th at the BullRing. The SST Modified Tour returns to Holland Speedway on Sat. August 23rd for the rescheduled George Decker Memorial Race…34 cars have already been qualified and are anticipating an awesome show.
August 31st it’s back to the Perry BullRing with the SST Modifieds on LaborDay weekend and on Sunday September 7th, the SST SuperStocks return for another 50-lap tour special. In mid-September as home track points begin to come to a close, a fall frenzy of big events begin to take shape. September 19th & 20th the famous Race of Champions at Oswego Speedway will host both the SST Modifieds and the SST SuperStocks for a full weekend of great competition. The weekend of Sept 27th, the SST Series visits Dunn Tire Raceway Park, in Lancaster NY, for the annual US Open. As the leaves begin to change color in the beautiful hills of Wyoming County, the BullRing heats back up with the SST Championship races Sat, October 11th. The Fall ShootOut…100 laps of SST Modified action and the Dave London Memorial, 50 lap SuperStock tour finale !
